SHE GOT AWAY WITH MURDER

A back-alley Queens butt doctor who admitted to doling out a deadly silicone injection to a Maryland woman was sentenced to one year in prison — including time already served — on Thursday as the victim’s heartbroken relatives blasted the sweetheart deal.
“She got away with murder," Latrice Mayhew, mom of victim Kelly Mayhew, said bitterly after Donna Francis’ sentencing in Queens Supreme Court.

Francis, who ran off to England after the fatal operation, won the cushy sentence in August after a lengthy extradition battle. It was also agreed that she would finish her sentence in Suffolk County after a British judge heard horror stories about Rikers Island.
Kelly Mayhew and her mom traveled from Baltimore to Queens in May 2015 to meet Francis, a former hairdresser with no medical training. Francis had set up a clinic inside a Far Rockaway apartment and injected Mayhew’s backside with $1,600 worth of a clear liquid silicone gel that she had bought on eBay.
When Mayhew began having trouble breathing, her mother gave her CPR and begged Francis to call 911. Instead, Francis grabbed her keys and took off in an SUV. She left the U.S. for her childhood home in suburban London the next day.

Mayhew suffered a cardiac arrest and died at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, authorities said. The city medical examiner later determined that the silicone fatally clogged an artery.
Francis, 39, wearing a black suit and gold stiletto heels, broke down in sobs Thursday as she apologized to Mayhew’s family.

“I’m sorry for everything," she cried. "It was never my intention to hurt anyone ... it was never my intention. I’m sorry for all the years this has been going on, I’m sorry for everything.”

Francis pleaded guilty in October to criminally negligent homicide. With time served, she is expected to be released from prison next April, authorities said.
The sweetheart deal enraged Mayhew’s family.
“Donna Francis is alive, breathing, kicking and screaming," Mayhew’s brother Richard Lane said at the sentencing Thursday. “With all her strength she fought not to be here to face her crimes. (She) vigorously refused to take any responsibility until forced.”

“I will never see Kelly again, never talk to Kelly again or never touch (her) ever again ... and that’s forever," he said as his mother wiped away tears in the gallery.

Queens Assistant District Attorney George DeLuca-Farrugia called Francis “nothing short of a coward.”
“She has been a coward the past three years when she refused to return to the states," DeLuca-Farrugia said. "It pains me and this office that we can’t get more than one year
